The general advice is for exclusive breast feeding for the first 6 months of life and continued breast feeding for the first 2 years of life. There are many advantages for the mother and her baby in this plan of breast feeding. Thus, it is the standard care accepted all over the world. Older advices about introducing juices or solids at 4 months or even younger are now strongly discouraged.
