Newborns are expected to lose some weight after delivery due to fluid loss. Don’t worry ||The pacifier’s guard or shield should have ventilation holes so the baby can breathe if the shield does get into the mouth ||Expressing milk should be painless. If it hurts, stop. ||Don't ever be afraid to ask for help from a friend or relative. Time away will let you recharge. ||As a new baby mother who has to breast feed you should make sure that you drink lots of water ... Make a habit out of drinking a glass of water every time you feed your baby. This will ensure that you are getting your water, and help your body produce enough milk. ||Don't let your baby nap in the car seat after you're home as a substitute for crib since it's harder for young babies to breathe in that position ||In case of eczema, use mild, unscented body and laundry soaps. Pat baby's skin dry; don't rub ||Preservatives, fragrances, harsh soap, rough fabric, sweat, and stress can be potential irritants for babies suffering from eczema ||If you have trouble emptying your breast, apply warm compresses to the breast or take a warm shower before breast-feeding ||Exclusive breastfeeding for at least 6 months is the best prevention of food allergies ||
Are vitamins needed routinely?


If the child is having a balanced diet, healthy water to drink as described under the same section, he should not be in need of extra vitamins or minerals. One important exception is vitamin D. Our bodies naturally acquire vitamin D from exposure to the direct sun light. If your child is not adequately exposed to the sunlight than he/she will need vitamin D supplementation of at least 200 Units/day.
