Trim your baby’s nails weekly after a bath when the nails are softened ||Reflux is common in newborns. Most babies outgrow reflux between the time they are 1 and 2 years old ||Preservatives, fragrances, harsh soap, rough fabric, sweat, and stress can be potential irritants for babies suffering from eczema ||There are parenting mistakes that are harmless. When in doubt, ask your pediatrician ||Try to develop passions outside of work. Don't define yourself by your job, and have the courage to be imperfect. ||If every feeding is painful or your baby isn't gaining weight, ask a lactation consultant or your baby's doctor for help ||If your child's scalp is very crusty, put some baby oil or olive oil on the scalp 1 hour before washing to soften the crust ||The sun is the most important source of Vit D ||Contact the doctor if your newborn isn't gaining weight, wets fewer than six diapers a day or shows little interest in feedings ||Always check the water temperature with your hand before bathing your baby. Be sure the room is comfortably warm, too ||

If the child is having a balanced diet, healthy water to drink as described under the same section, he should not be in need of extra vitamins or minerals. One important exception is vitamin D. Our bodies naturally acquire vitamin D from exposure to the direct sun light. If your child is not adequately exposed to the sunlight than he/she will need vitamin D supplementation of at least 200 Units/day.
