Don't forget to watch what you say and do around your child: Imitation is one of the ways toddlers learn socially acceptable behavior. ||2- Breastfeeding your new baby ...Breast milk provides all the nutrients that babies need for the first six months of their life and guards against many illnesses and allergies. Also, breastfeeding can help build a special closeness with your baby. Breastfeeding is one of the best things you can do for your baby. ||Most newborns need eight to 12 feedings a day — about one feeding every two to three hours ||It’s never too early to read for your child ||Ask your baby's doctor about vitamin D supplements for the baby, especially if you're breast-feeding ||If your child's scalp is very crusty, put some baby oil or olive oil on the scalp 1 hour before washing to soften the crust ||Whenever possible, don't get involved in your kids' clash. Step in only if there's a danger of physical harm. ||Make sure your baby wears a hat if she will be in a cold environment ||The more you help your toddler put his feelings into words (“I’m mad. I want the truck.” “I’m sad. I can’t find my bear.”), the less they will show aggressive behaviour. ||Infant constipation is the passage of hard, dry bowel movements — not necessarily the absence of daily bowel movements ||
Pumping tips at work

Pumping breastmilk can be a challenge but hopefully these tips will help:

  • Ask ahead of time for an arrangement if your company doesn't have a lactation room and you don't have an office.
  • Pump as soon as you get to work. In the morning you'll have more milk and you'll be less likely to put it off once you're involved in a project. Stay on schedule. Pump at regular intervals. Dont skip pumping sessions, and if you must, manually express to keep your supply up.
  • Wear nursing pads every day, so that if you leak during the day it will not be visible to others
  • Make sure that you have the correct size breast flange.
  • Take video of your baby crying and cooing if you have a phone that will do so. This helps to have a pretty fast let-down.
  • Store your breastmilk in a cooler with icepacks so that you do not forget your expressed breastmilk at work.
  • Keep your local lactation consultants number on speed dial for questions and support.
