Your baby should have 4-6 wet diapers per day. This is a great way to monitor if they're getting enough milk ||If you have trouble emptying your breast, apply warm compresses to the breast or take a warm shower before breast-feeding ||When your infant is carried, he should be oriented toward the carrying adult ||For protecting young children during summer months, apply sunscreen at least 30 minutes before going outside ||Never pick up your infant by the hands or wrists as this can put stress on the elbows. Lifting under the armpits is the safest way ||Don’t forget to put labels with date and time on your expressed milk bottles to check expiry dates ||The most important thing on growth curves is how your baby grows over time. If he's small but growing at the appropriate rate, there's usually no cause for concern. ||Use a firm mattress and avoid placing your baby on thick, fluffy padding that may interfere with breathing if your baby's face presses against it ||During the day, don't try to catch up on chores while the baby sleeps. Lie down and rest ||Make sure the highchair has a wide base, good fit, adjustable secure straps. Consider a post between the child's legs. ||
Fever

Fever is considered present if the tempearture is more than 38 C (100.4 F). Fever is a symptom not a disease in itself. Fever is generally not harmful. Fever is the normal body response to infections and helps fighting these. We treat fever for the comfort of the child.

Symptoms

Home care

Encourage your child  to drink extra fluids but do not force him to drink. Keep clothing at a minimum.

Acetaminophen products may be given if your child is uncomfortable, may be repeated every 4 hours. The dose depends on your child weight. Fever should go down by 1-1.5C in 2 hours for 4-6 hours.

Ibuprofen products may be given for children more than 4 months of age, if your child is still uncomfortable. The dose depends on your child weight. Fever should go down by 1-1.5C in 2 hours for 6-8 hours.

Sponge your child if fever is more than 40C, use tepid water (water temperature 29-32C). Sponging works much faster than immersion. Cooling comes from the evaporation of water. Do not add alcohol or vinegar to the water.
