Don't define yourself by your job, and have the courage to be imperfect. ||Contact the doctor if your newborn isn't gaining weight, wets fewer than six diapers a day or shows little interest in feedings ||Most newborns need eight to 12 feedings a day — about one feeding every two to three hours ||If every feeding is painful or your baby isn't gaining weight, ask a lactation consultant or your baby's doctor for help ||The pacifier’s guard or shield should have ventilation holes so the baby can breathe if the shield does get into the mouth ||To keep the eye free of infection, massage inner lower corner of the eye twice daily to empty it of old fluids ||Colostrum is rich with all what baby needs for the first 2-3 days till the breast begins to produce milk ||As a new baby mother who has to breast feed you should make sure that you drink lots of water ... Make a habit out of drinking a glass of water every time you feed your baby. This will ensure that you are getting your water, and help your body produce enough milk. ||Trim your baby’s nails weekly after a bath when the nails are softened ||
