They should not visit if they are sick ||The pacifier’s guard or shield should have ventilation holes so the baby can breathe if the shield does get into the mouth ||Contact the doctor if your newborn isn't gaining weight, wets fewer than six diapers a day or shows little interest in feedings ||Ask your baby's doctor about vitamin D supplements for the baby, especially if you're breast-feeding ||Make sure your baby wears a hat if she will be in a cold environment ||Trim your baby’s nails weekly after a bath when the nails are softened ||AAP recommends to avoid blankets (a potential suffocation hazard) until your baby reaches her first birthday ||To help your kid stand up to negative peer pressure, encourage him to talk, use role playing with him, get to know the parents of your child's friends and finally deal with your own peer pressure. ||Use a firm mattress and avoid placing your baby on thick, fluffy padding that may interfere with breathing if your baby's face presses against it ||

  • If you need to contact the doctor directly, be ready to provide your phone number, the birth date of your child, the name of your child to facilitate the creation of the personal file of your child. If you can provide the actual weight or even approximate weight of your child, it would be an advantage.

 

  • Have a pen and a paper if you would need to take a note of what you just heard.
