Check them out in our articles section. ||AAP recommends to avoid blankets (a potential suffocation hazard) until your baby reaches her first birthday ||Contact the doctor if your newborn isn't gaining weight, wets fewer than six diapers a day or shows little interest in feedings ||Children who gain weight quickly during their first six months are more likely to be obese or at risk of obesity by age 3 ||Don't let your baby nap in the car seat after you're home as a substitute for crib since it's harder for young babies to breathe in that position. ||Don’t forget to put labels with date and time on your expressed milk bottles to check expiry dates ||If you have trouble emptying your breast, apply warm compresses to the breast or take a warm shower before breast-feeding ||It’s never too early to read for your child ||

If the child is having a balanced diet, healthy water to drink as described under the same section, he should not be in need of extra vitamins or minerals. One important exception is vitamin D. Our bodies naturally acquire vitamin D from exposure to the direct sun light. If your child is not adequately exposed to the sunlight than he/she will need vitamin D supplementation of at least 200 Units/day.
