Toddler's appetite may change almost daily. Let her be the judge of how much she needs and wants to eat. ||Look for early signs of hunger, such as stirring and stretching, sucking motions and lip movements. Fussing and crying are later cues ||Infants raised on breast milk tend to score higher on tests of mental development than those on formula ||Don't let your baby nap in the car seat after you're home as a substitute for crib since it's harder for young babies to breathe in that position ||Your toddler may be clumsy simply due to her trials to master so many new physical skills at the same time. The more active she is, the more likely she will drop things, run into things, or fall down. ||Never pick up your infant by the hands or wrists as this can put stress on the elbows. Lifting under the armpits is the safest way ||Your baby's foot may seem flat, but that's because a layer of fat covers the arch. Within two to three years, this extra padding will disappear. ||The sun is the most important source of Vit D ||Ask your baby's doctor about vitamin D supplements for the baby, especially if you're breast-feeding ||The pacifier’s guard or shield should have ventilation holes so the baby can breathe if the shield does get into the mouth ||
Allergic Conjunctivitis

Allergic conjunctivitis occurs when the eye has a reaction against an allergen (an allergy-causing substance) such as dust, dander or pollen.

Symptoms
  • Red eyes
  • Dilated vessels in the conjunctiva, the membrane that covers the eye
  • Itching or burning in the eyes
  • Tearing (watery eyes)
  • Puffy eyelids, especially in the morning
  • Eye discharge

Doctor's Instructions

If the cause of the allergic reaction is identified, avoiding the allergen will solve the problem. Symptoms can be relieved by antihistamines, anti-allergic medications sold over the counter. Your doctor may also prescribe anti-inflammatory eye drops or steroid creams.

When to Call for Help

Call for an appointment with your healthcare provider if your child has symptoms of allergic conjunctivitis and if they don’t improve with over-the-counter treatments.
