Wash your hands thoroughly and frequently. It’s not the type of soap that prevents the spread of bacteria and viruses; it’s how you wash your hands. ||Expressing milk should be painless. If it hurts, stop. ||Ask your baby's doctor about vitamin D supplements for the baby, especially if you're breast-feeding ||Set aside time to spend with each child individually, so they don't feel like they're competing for your attention ||Never tie a pacifier to your child’s crib or around your child’s neck or hand. This could cause serious injury or even death ||Don’t rush into solving your kid's problems. Give him the chance to conclude, all on his own, that things are going to be okay. ||Proper weight gain is the sign that your baby is having enough milk. Not crying and not comparing with other kids ||Infant constipation is the passage of hard, dry bowel movements — not necessarily the absence of daily bowel movements ||To help your kid stand up to negative peer pressure, encourage him to talk, use role playing with him, get to know the parents of your child's friends and finally deal with your own peer pressure. ||Bathe baby for no more than ten minutes in warm water especially if he shows signs of skin eczema. ||
Fever

Fever is considered present if the tempearture is more than 38 C (100.4 F). Fever is a symptom not a disease in itself. Fever is generally not harmful. Fever is the normal body response to infections and helps fighting these. We treat fever for the comfort of the child.

Symptoms

Home care

Encourage your child  to drink extra fluids but do not force him to drink. Keep clothing at a minimum.

Acetaminophen products may be given if your child is uncomfortable, may be repeated every 4 hours. The dose depends on your child weight. Fever should go down by 1-1.5C in 2 hours for 4-6 hours.

Ibuprofen products may be given for children more than 4 months of age, if your child is still uncomfortable. The dose depends on your child weight. Fever should go down by 1-1.5C in 2 hours for 6-8 hours.

Sponge your child if fever is more than 40C, use tepid water (water temperature 29-32C). Sponging works much faster than immersion. Cooling comes from the evaporation of water. Do not add alcohol or vinegar to the water.
