Breastfeeding is one of the best things you can do for your baby. ||Contact the doctor if your newborn isn't gaining weight, wets fewer than six diapers a day or shows little interest in feedings ||Ask your baby's doctor about vitamin D supplements for the baby, especially if you're breast-feeding ||Put a photo of a face – yours – on the side of the cot for your baby to look at. Human faces fascinate babies ||Don't ever be afraid to ask for help from a friend or relative. Time away will let you recharge. ||Most newborns need eight to 12 feedings a day — about one feeding every two to three hours ||Use a firm mattress and avoid placing your baby on thick, fluffy padding that may interfere with breathing if your baby's face presses against it ||Massaging infants' arms and hands can significantly reduce their pain from needle sticks ||To help your kid stand up to negative peer pressure, encourage him to talk, use role playing with him, get to know the parents of your child's friends and finally deal with your own peer pressure. ||Always check the water temperature with your hand before bathing your baby. Be sure the room is comfortably warm, too ||

What causes speech delay?
Speech delay occurs in up to 10 percent of children. The most common causes of speech delay include:
