Don't allow your pet on the couch while you are holding baby. This makes dogs bigger and taller in relation to your infant and may encourage aggression. ||Never tie a pacifier to your child’s crib or around your child’s neck or hand. This could cause serious injury or even death ||Proper weight gain is the sign that your baby is having enough milk. Not crying and not comparing with other kids ||Breastfeeding releases Oxytocin which causes contractions of the uterus, helping to stop hemorrhage and initiating weight loss ||The only acceptable punishment for our children is time-out. No spanking, no shouting and no threatening ||Only close friends and relatives should visit you during your first month at home. They should not visit if they are sick ||The pacifier’s guard or shield should have ventilation holes so the baby can breathe if the shield does get into the mouth ||In case of eczema, use mild, unscented body and laundry soaps. Pat baby's skin dry; don't rub ||Always check the water temperature with your hand before bathing your baby. Be sure the room is comfortably warm, too ||A great deal of body heat is lost through a bare head, so make sure your baby wears a hat if she will be in a cold environment ||

What causes speech delay?
Speech delay occurs in up to 10 percent of children. The most common causes of speech delay include:
1. Mental Retardation
2. Hearing Loss
3. Maturation Delay
Other causes might include
4. The child just doesn't want to talk (Elective mutism)
5. Bilingualism
6. Psychosocial Deprivation
7. Autism
What can my doctor do to find out if speech delay is the problem? • Listening to your child's speech
• checking your child's mental development
• hearing test
What can be done if my child has speech delay?
• Some children just take more time to start talking so your child might not need any treatment.
• The treatment Protocol depends on the cause of the speech delay.
• A speech and language pathologist might be helpful in making treatment plans.
• In some cases an audiologist (a hearing doctor), a psychologist (a specialist in behavior problems) is needed to share in treatment protocol.
