Don't allow your pet on the couch while you are holding baby. This makes dogs bigger and taller in relation to your infant and may encourage aggression. ||Your toddler may be clumsy simply due to her trials to master so many new physical skills at the same time. The more active she is, the more likely she will drop things, run into things, or fall down. ||Never tie a pacifier to your child’s crib or around your child’s neck or hand. This could cause serious injury or even death ||Use each feeding as an opportunity to build your newborn's sense of security, trust and comfort. ||The only acceptable punishment for our children is time-out. No spanking, no shouting and no threatening ||Try to develop passions outside of work. Don't define yourself by your job, and have the courage to be imperfect. ||Sleep sacks and sufficient layers of clothing are safe alternatives to blankets for children less than six months of age ||Don't let your baby nap in the car seat after you're home as a substitute for crib since it's harder for young babies to breathe in that position. ||Reading aloud will help your baby be a better reader when she's older. ||Until your baby is 6 months old, he'll get all the hydration he needs from breast milk or formula, even in hot weather ||
Bedwetting Do’s and Dont’s

Do’s

  • Encourage your child to drink normally throughout the day. It is important that they recognize the feeling of a full bladder.
  • Try To keep an eye on what your child drinks to see if any type of drink makes them produce more urine at night. They can then try stopping drinking it to see if it helps.
  • Ensure that your child has plenty of fruit, vegetables, cereal and fluids. This will help to avoid constipation which can contribute to bedwetting.
  • Ensure that your child goes to the toilet before going to bed.
  • Leave the light on at night to ensure that your child has easy access to the toilet.
  • Make sure that the mattress and bed are adequately protected.
  • Allow your child to help with changing the bed and night clothes. It does help if they are actively involved in overcoming the problem.
  • Stay calm, be prepared and try not to worry.
  • Remember, bedwetting is neither the child’s fault nor the parents. Patience, Love and encouragement will go a long way to resolving the problem for everyone in the family.

Don’ts

  • Do not get angry with your child, it’s not their fault.
  • Do not use waking the child as a long term strategy to overcome bedwetting.
