2- Breastfeeding your new baby ...Breast milk provides all the nutrients that babies need for the first six months of their life and guards against many illnesses and allergies. Also, breastfeeding can help build a special closeness with your baby. Breastfeeding is one of the best things you can do for your baby. ||Never pick up your infant by the hands or wrists as this can put stress on the elbows. Lifting under the armpits is the safest way ||When your infant is carried, he should be oriented toward the carrying adult ||Infants raised on breast milk tend to score higher on tests of mental development than those on formula ||Whenever possible, don't get involved in your kids' clash. Step in only if there's a danger of physical harm. ||Always keep the number of Poison Centre posted beside your phone ||The only acceptable punishment for our children is time-out. No spanking, no shouting and no threatening ||To help your kid stand up to negative peer pressure, encourage him to talk, use role playing with him, get to know the parents of your child's friends and finally deal with your own peer pressure. ||Infant constipation is the passage of hard, dry bowel movements — not necessarily the absence of daily bowel movements ||Until your baby is 6 months old, he'll get all the hydration he needs from breast milk or formula, even in hot weather ||
Bedwetting Do’s and Dont’s

Do’s

  • Encourage your child to drink normally throughout the day. It is important that they recognize the feeling of a full bladder.
  • Try To keep an eye on what your child drinks to see if any type of drink makes them produce more urine at night. They can then try stopping drinking it to see if it helps.
  • Ensure that your child has plenty of fruit, vegetables, cereal and fluids. This will help to avoid constipation which can contribute to bedwetting.
  • Ensure that your child goes to the toilet before going to bed.
  • Leave the light on at night to ensure that your child has easy access to the toilet.
  • Make sure that the mattress and bed are adequately protected.
  • Allow your child to help with changing the bed and night clothes. It does help if they are actively involved in overcoming the problem.
  • Stay calm, be prepared and try not to worry.
  • Remember, bedwetting is neither the child’s fault nor the parents. Patience, Love and encouragement will go a long way to resolving the problem for everyone in the family.

Don’ts

  • Do not get angry with your child, it’s not their fault.
  • Do not use waking the child as a long term strategy to overcome bedwetting.
