5. Care of the cord by daily painting with 70% alcohol till it falls within 7- 14 days.
Warning signs in the newborn
1. Weak or no feeding and suckling.
2. Persistent vomiting.
3. Bleeding.
4. Yellowish discoloration of the skin and mucous membranes.
5. Difficulty in breathing with rapid respiration or bluish discoloration of the skin.
6. Recurrent choking or coughing with feeding.
7. Not passing stool or urine.
8. Weak activity.
9. Hypo or hyperthermia.
