2- Breastfeeding your new baby ...Breast milk provides all the nutrients that babies need for the first six months of their life and guards against many illnesses and allergies. Also, breastfeeding can help build a special closeness with your baby. Breastfeeding is one of the best things you can do for your baby. ||Exclusive breastfeeding for at least 6 months is the best prevention of food allergies ||Children who gain weight quickly during their first six months are more likely to be obese or at risk of obesity by age 3 ||Use a firm mattress and avoid placing your baby on thick, fluffy padding that may interfere with breathing if your baby's face presses against it ||Reflux is common in newborns. Most babies outgrow reflux between the time they are 1 and 2 years old ||Don't allow your pet on the couch while you are holding baby. This makes dogs bigger and taller in relation to your infant and may encourage aggression. ||The most important thing on growth curves is how your baby grows over time. If he's small but growing at the appropriate rate, there's usually no cause for concern. ||Don’t forget to put labels with date and time on your expressed milk bottles to check expiry dates ||To help your kid stand up to negative peer pressure, encourage him to talk, use role playing with him, get to know the parents of your child's friends and finally deal with your own peer pressure. ||Colostrum is rich with all what baby needs for the first 2-3 days till the breast begins to produce milk ||

Sessions will be held by Mrs. Sherine Khalil, General Psychology Specialist, at our Mohandessin branch. Each session lasts for 45 minutes.

What do these sessions cover?

  • Counseling children, adolescents and parents; providing support and guidance in relational, academic, emotional and personal areas.
  • Observing children and identifying those with specific challenges (hx of abuse, anxieties, ADHD).
  • Planning and implementing intervention programs both on individual and group level.
  • Counseling teachers of students with challenging behaviors.
  • Assessment of children's abilities and personality traits.
  • Integration of children with disabilities into main stream classes.
  • Training teachers on child development, class management and other related topics.

Activities are available in Arabic, English and German languages.
