The most important thing on growth curves is how your baby grows over time. Don’t worry ||If every feeding is painful or your baby isn't gaining weight, ask a lactation consultant or your baby's doctor for help ||Use a firm mattress and avoid placing your baby on thick, fluffy padding that may interfere with breathing if your baby's face presses against it ||Always check the water temperature with your hand before bathing your baby. Be sure the room is comfortably warm, too ||Don’t forget to put labels with date and time on your expressed milk bottles to check expiry dates ||To keep the eye free of infection, massage inner lower corner of the eye twice daily to empty it of old fluids ||As a new baby mother who has to breast feed you should make sure that you drink lots of water ... Make a habit out of drinking a glass of water every time you feed your baby. This will ensure that you are getting your water, and help your body produce enough milk. ||Design a kid corner and fill it with things safe for your toddler like Tupperware, toys, empty boxes, etc. ||Don't forget to watch what you say and do around your child: Imitation is one of the ways toddlers learn socially acceptable behavior. ||
Unsafe Foods for Toddlers

 

  • Hot dogs (unless cut in quarters lengthwise before being sliced)
  • Hard candies, including jelly beans
  • Nuts
  • Chunks of peanut butter (Peanut butter may be spread thinly on bread or a cracker—but never give chunks of peanut butter to a toddler.)
  • Popcorn
  • Raw carrots, celery, green beans
  • Seeds (such as processed pumpkin or sunflower seeds)
  • Whole grapes, cherry tomatoes (Cut them in quarters.)
  • Large chunks of any food such as meat, potatoes, or raw vegetables and fruits
