As a new mommy, sleep when your baby sleeps. Silence your phone and ignore the dishes in the sink ||To keep the eye free of infection, massage inner lower corner of the eye twice daily to empty it of old fluids ||Use each feeding as an opportunity to build your newborn's sense of security, trust and comfort. ||Only close friends and relatives should visit you during your first month at home. They should not visit if they are sick ||Toddler's appetite may change almost daily. Let her be the judge of how much she needs and wants to eat. ||Don't ever be afraid to ask for help from a friend or relative. Time away will let you recharge. ||Your baby's foot may seem flat, but that's because a layer of fat covers the arch. Within two to three years, this extra padding will disappear. ||Proper weight gain is the sign that your baby is having enough milk. Not crying and not comparing with other kids ||Alternate the first breast you offer at each feed ||Reading aloud will help your baby be a better reader when she's older ||

• It is a physiological phenomenon due to spasmodic contraction of the diaphragm.
• it is mostly not a Warning sign for any critical illness which usually stops spontenuously.
• it is frequent in children and is usually more tolerable by them compared to the adults.
• it might interfere with breast feeding as the baby will stop suckling during Hiccup.
• It is more common with overfeeding or air swallowing with teat use.

Tips to stop Hiccup

  • The baby should be held in an upright position with gentle rubbing of his back
  • Drinking a small amount of warm water usually helps
