Newborns are expected to lose some weight after delivery due to fluid loss. Don’t worry ||Set aside time to spend with each child individually, so they don't feel like they're competing for your attention ||To help your kid stand up to negative peer pressure, encourage him to talk, use role playing with him, get to know the parents of your child's friends and finally deal with your own peer pressure. ||Whenever possible, don't get involved in your kids' clash. Step in only if there's a danger of physical harm. ||Until your baby is 6 months old, he'll get all the hydration he needs from breast milk or formula, even in hot weather ||Do not postpone your baby’s vaccines unless he is sick or feverish ||Trim your baby’s nails weekly after a bath when the nails are softened ||Bathe baby for no more than ten minutes in warm water especially if he shows signs of skin eczema. ||AAP recommends to avoid blankets (a potential suffocation hazard) until your baby reaches her first birthday ||Always check the water temperature with your hand before bathing your baby. Be sure the room is comfortably warm, too ||

• It is a physiological phenomenon due to spasmodic contraction of the diaphragm.
• it is mostly not a Warning sign for any critical illness which usually stops spontenuously.
• it is frequent in children and is usually more tolerable by them compared to the adults.
• it might interfere with breast feeding as the baby will stop suckling during Hiccup.
• It is more common with overfeeding or air swallowing with teat use.

Tips to stop Hiccup

  • The baby should be held in an upright position with gentle rubbing of his back
  • Drinking a small amount of warm water usually helps
