Until your baby is 6 months old, he'll get all the hydration he needs from breast milk or formula, even in hot weather ||Contact the doctor if your newborn isn't gaining weight, wets fewer than six diapers a day or shows little interest in feedings ||During growth spurts - around 6 weeks after birth — your newborn might want to be fed more often ||Infants raised on breast milk tend to score higher on tests of mental development than those on formula ||A great deal of body heat is lost through a bare head, so make sure your baby wears a hat if she will be in a cold environment ||During the day, don't try to catch up on chores while the baby sleeps. Lie down and rest ||In case of eczema, use mild, unscented body and laundry soaps. Pat baby's skin dry; don't rub ||Stop the continuous criticism to your teens. Highlight their qualities instead. ||Look for early signs of hunger, such as stirring and stretching, sucking motions and lip movements. Fussing and crying are later cues ||Toddler's appetite may change almost daily. Let her be the judge of how much she needs and wants to eat. ||

Johnson & Johnson Planning To Remove Carcinogens

Johnson & Johnson plans to remove potentially cancer-causing and other dangerous chemicals from nearly all its adult toiletries and cosmetic products worldwide by 2015.

Johnson & Johnson baby shampoo contains two carcinogens that are causing environmental groups to boycott the product. The original Johnson & Johnson baby has both Dioxane and a substance called quaternium-15 that releases formaldehyde. The company has said that they are “gradually” phasing out these chemicals, but many products containing the carcinogens are still on the market, both in the US and abroad.

More than two years ago, the Campaign for Safe Cosmetics released the groundbreaking report, No More Toxic Tub, which revealed that popular kids’ bath products – including Johnson’s Baby Shampoo – contained chemicals linked to cancer. They promptly asked Johnson & Johnson to reformulate its iconic baby shampoo and specifically to remove the formaldehyde-releasing chemical, quaternium-15.
