Infant constipation is the passage of hard, dry bowel movements — not necessarily the absence of daily bowel movements ||Whenever possible, don't get involved in your kids' clash. Step in only if there's a danger of physical harm. ||Don't ever be afraid to ask for help from a friend or relative. Time away will let you recharge. ||Try to develop passions outside of work. Don't define yourself by your job, and have the courage to be imperfect. ||Use a firm mattress and avoid placing your baby on thick, fluffy padding that may interfere with breathing if your baby's face presses against it ||Only close friends and relatives should visit you during your first month at home. They should not visit if they are sick ||When giving suspension or liquid medicines, use the dosage cup enclosed in the package or a syringe ||To help your kid stand up to negative peer pressure, encourage him to talk, use role playing with him, get to know the parents of your child's friends and finally deal with your own peer pressure. ||Children who gain weight quickly during their first six months are more likely to be obese or at risk of obesity by age 3 ||Sleep sacks and sufficient layers of clothing are safe alternatives to blankets for children less than six months of age ||
Pumping tips at work

 

Pumping breastmilk can be a challenge but hopefully these tips will help:

  • Ask ahead of time for an arrangement if your company doesn't have a lactation room and you don't have an office.
  • Pump as soon as you get to work. In the morning you'll have more milk and you'll be less likely to put it off once you're involved in a project. Stay on schedule. Pump at regular intervals. Dont skip pumping sessions, and if you must, manually express to keep your supply up.
  • Wear nursing pads every day, so that if you leak during the day it will not be visible to others
  • Make sure that you have the correct size breast flange.
  • Take video of your baby crying and cooing if you have a phone that will do so. This helps to have a pretty fast let-down.
  • Store your breastmilk in a cooler with icepacks so that you do not forget your expressed breastmilk at work.
  • Keep your local lactation consultants number on speed dial for questions and support.
