Don’t rush into solving your kid's problems. Give him the chance to conclude, all on his own, that things are going to be okay. ||As a new baby mother who has to breast feed you should make sure that you drink lots of water ... Make a habit out of drinking a glass of water every time you feed your baby. This will ensure that you are getting your water, and help your body produce enough milk. ||Wash your hands thoroughly and frequently. It’s not the type of soap that prevents the spread of bacteria and viruses; it’s how you wash your hands. ||Plan for regular family meals. This is a great way to monitor if they're getting enough milk ||Bathe baby for no more than ten minutes in warm water especially if he shows signs of skin eczema. ||Trim your baby’s nails weekly after a bath when the nails are softened ||Don't allow your pet on the couch while you are holding baby. Pumping tips at work

Pumping breastmilk can be a challenge but hopefully these tips will help:

  • Ask ahead of time for an arrangement if your company doesn't have a lactation room and you don't have an office.
  • Pump as soon as you get to work. In the morning you'll have more milk and you'll be less likely to put it off once you're involved in a project. Stay on schedule. Pump at regular intervals. Dont skip pumping sessions, and if you must, manually express to keep your supply up.
  • Wear nursing pads every day, so that if you leak during the day it will not be visible to others
  • Make sure that you have the correct size breast flange.
  • Take video of your baby crying and cooing if you have a phone that will do so. This helps to have a pretty fast let-down.
  • Store your breastmilk in a cooler with icepacks so that you do not forget your expressed breastmilk at work.
  • Keep your local lactation consultants number on speed dial for questions and support.
